Conduct geographic research, with direction
Conduct geographic research, with direction
This standard asks you to plan and carry out a geographic research project in a real place (like a local park, beach, or town), with your teacher giving you the research question and direction. You'll collect real data through fieldwork (like surveys, observations, or photos), present it in multiple ways (maps, graphs, tables), and explain what you found using geographic ideas.
You conduct fieldwork, collect data using basic methods, present it in some appropriate ways, describe findings with reference to a geographic concept, and evaluate your research process.
You present data in multiple ways that clearly show understanding of the spatial context, describe findings in detail with geographic concepts, provide detailed conclusions, and give a thorough evaluation of your research strengths and weaknesses.
You present data in varied, well-organised ways using correct conventions, provide detailed findings using geographic terminology with insight, evaluate your research process thoughtfully including discussion of whether your findings are actually valid and reliable.
