NZQA suppresses grade rates for low-cohort standards.
This standard asks you to use drawing to show you understand the rules and conventions that apply to design work. You need to select and use drawing techniques, materials, and processes in a way that shows you know how they work and what they're for. Your drawings can be research sketches, concept work, roughs, prototypes, models, or final solutions—whatever demonstrates your understanding of design conventions.
You use drawing with understanding of design conventions—your work shows you know which techniques and materials fit the job and you apply them with some awareness of why.
You specifically select and use drawing techniques and conventions with clear thinking about their characteristics—you show purposeful choices linked to your design outcome.
You critically select and fluently apply drawing processes and conventions with deep understanding—your work shows sophisticated, confident use of design drawing across research, concept work, and solutions.
