Demonstrate understanding of electrical systems
This standard asks you to show you understand how electrical systems work, including circuits with capacitors, inductors, transformers, and AC circuits. You need to be able to explain these concepts, do calculations using relevant formulas, and connect different ideas together to solve problems.
You explain basic electrical concepts correctly, can substitute values into formulas, identify what's happening in simple circuits, and do straightforward calculations like finding time constants or induced EMF.
You use equations to justify your answers, explain *why* things happen (like why voltmeter readings change or why a lamp shines differently with a capacitor versus a resistor), and handle more complex calculations correctly.
You connect multiple electrical concepts together logically, provide clear explanations supported by equations, discuss energy transformations, and show comprehensive understanding of how different parts of a circuit affect each other—all explained clearly and sequentially.
