12 students sat this in 2024 · 75% passed
You need to watch and understand extended New Zealand Sign Language texts on different topics and show you've got the main ideas and different viewpoints. You can respond in NZSL, English, or Te Reo Māori. The texts will be things like videos, conversations, or stories that deal with real-life issues and sometimes more complex ideas.
- ·Watch signed texts and identify the main information and different perspectives being presented
- ·Select relevant details from what you've seen and explain them clearly in NZSL, English, or Te Reo Māori
- ·Show you understand both what is directly signed and what is implied or suggested in the text
- ·Respond to the signed texts in ways that make sense for the purpose — like summarising, giving advice, or making a recommendation
- ·Demonstrate understanding of how Deaf culture connects to the language and the messages being shared
You identify the main ideas and some different viewpoints from the signed texts and can explain them.
You pick out the relevant details and perspectives carefully, explain them without confusion, and show you've understood what's suggested beneath the surface.
