This standard asks you to explain how psychological theories are actually used in real-life work settings like schools, hospitals, sports teams, or courts. You need to pick at least two different fields and show why psychologists choose particular theories to help them do their jobs in those places.
- ·Pick at least two real-life fields where psychologists work (like clinical, educational, forensic, sports, industrial/organisational) and identify at least one theory used in each field
- ·Explain why those specific theories are useful in those fields and what problems they help solve
- ·Describe the strengths and weaknesses of the theories you've chosen (Merit level requires this)
- ·Evaluate how the theories shape or change the way those fields operate, and consider where those fields might be heading in the future (Excellence level)
You explain how at least two psychological theories are used in two different real-life fields, showing you understand why psychologists choose them.
You go deeper by discussing both the strengths and weaknesses of the theories, and justify why they're chosen despite any limitations.
