Generate product or spatial design ideas using visual communication techniques in response to design influences
NZQA suppresses grade rates for low-cohort standards.
In this standard, you need to generate design ideas for a product or space and present them using drawing, sketching, or digital techniques. You must explain two design influences that inspired your ideas—one of which must be connected to te ao Māori design—and show how those influences shaped the way you thought about your design.
You generate design ideas using visual communication techniques and explain how your two chosen design influences (one from te ao Māori) relate to your work.
You develop your design ideas further by drawing on the characteristics of your design influences to expand and build on your initial concepts.
You extend your design ideas by using divergent thinking to regenerate new design ideas that draw on both the characteristics of your design influences and creative thinking to explore fresh directions.
