Perform a repertoire of dance
NZQA suppresses grade rates for low-cohort standards.
You need to perform a series of three or more dances in the same style (like three hip-hop pieces, or three contemporary works). The dances must be polished and ready to perform more than once. You'll be assessed on whether you can accurately reproduce the movements, adjust your timing and focus between different pieces, and show that you understand what makes each dance style unique.
You perform three or more dances accurately with correct movements, timing, and focus that changes between each piece.
You show clear understanding of what makes each dance style unique by nailing the specific movement qualities, posture, and expression that belong to that genre, and you clearly convey the mood of each dance.
You deliver detailed, nuanced performances that show the subtle elements of each style (like specific hand movements or breath), maintain strong performance energy throughout the whole series, and powerfully communicate the underlying emotional content or ideas behind each dance.
