Demonstrate understanding of spoken Korean related to everyday contexts
This standard tests whether you can understand spoken Korean in situations you encounter in everyday life—things like talking about food, daily routines, getting around town, or sports. You listen to Korean speakers and answer questions in English (or Te Reo Māori) to show what you understood, including not just individual words but the overall meaning and intent of what was being said.
You identify separate pieces of information from the spoken passage and show you understood some of what was said, but your answers are incomplete or don't fully explain the meaning.
You select relevant details from the passage and connect them together to explain what's happening; your answers have good supporting detail, though you may not structure or justify everything equally well across all questions.
You demonstrate thorough understanding by integrating evidence from the entire passage into well-structured, fully justified responses that explain not just what was said but why, drawing convincing conclusions about the speakers' meaning and intent.
