Produce a systematic body of work that shows understanding of art making conventions and ideas within design
You need to create a portfolio of design work that shows you understand how designers work and the rules/conventions they follow. Your work should show a clear thinking process where you develop ideas, try different approaches, and make deliberate choices about layout, type, imagery, and overall design decisions across multiple projects.
You communicate basic design practices, use original imagery, engage with a design context, and show some idea development across your work.
You clearly document your design process and intentional decision-making, show logical progression from small concept sketches to larger outcomes, and explore multiple design elements in each brief.
You demonstrate strong originality with sustained self-generated imagery, show clear progression from exploration through to refined final work, intentionally distinguish between exploration/development/final outcomes, and show sophisticated control over design conventions and how they work together.
