Analyse methods and ideas from established design practice
You need to research and analyse how established artists actually make their work and the ideas behind their creative choices. This involves studying at least three artists from different sources, comparing their methods and ideas, and explaining why their work matters in the context of art history, culture, or society. Essentially, you're becoming a design detective—finding out not just what artists did, but how and why they did it.
You identify and describe the methods and ideas of at least three artists, show basic comparisons between them, and explain some reasons for their approaches using information from multiple sources.
You purposefully gather detailed information from a range of sources, use specific examples to support your discussion, and demonstrate in-depth understanding of how particular methods and ideas connect to each other and to the artists' intentions.
You provide independent research showing personal insight, evaluate the significance of different artistic approaches, explain complex relationships between artists' work, and place these within wider historical, social, political, or geographical contexts with clear supporting arguments.
